The End of Everything will be in the running for the top three non-fiction books read in 2024. At least for me.
I was blown away. It was insightful, entertaining, substantive, damning, and it featured great writing.
The book is about societies that didn’t collapse but were annihilated. It discusses the four biggest annihilations:

Tenochtitlan
From Alexander the Great to Hernando Cortes.
